Very often a component already machined to size requires an internal slot machined in a bore. Unless this can be done on the lathe in use it means a second operation set-up, assuming that a suitable machine is available. This little tool, utilising the lathe topslide, is made from stock materials will solve this problem for most work likely to be encountered in the home workshop.
