Republic P-47D Thunderbolt (Bubble) (61")

The P-47D Thunderbolt was one of the most famous planes of WWII, it was an outstanding single seat fighter plane that excelled in high-altitude bomber escort and low-altitude ground attacks. The fighter was involved in air-to-air combat and ground attacks in both the WWII European and Pacific theatres. To solve the problem of visibility issues in earlier models, later Thunderbolt models were redesigned with a transparent bubble canopy, leading to the birth of the ‘Bubbletop’. This 1:7.86 scale ‘Jug’ is superbly detailed, with 2 large plan sheets that produces a 1550mm (61”) model that any builder would be proud of from all wood construction. Not suitable for beginners.
