Messerschmitt Bf109F (61")

The backbone of the Luftwaffe’s fighter force during WWII, the Messerschmitt Bf 109 was one of the most advanced fighters of the era, including such features as all-metal monocoque construction, a closed canopy, and retractable landing gear. It was powered by a liquid-cooled, inverted-V12 aero engine. Originally conceived as an interceptor, later models were developed to fulfil multiple tasks, serving as bomber escort, fighter-bomber, day-, night-, all-weather fighter, ground-attack aircraft, and as reconnaissance aircraft. The Bf 109F was widely considered to be the best basic variant of the 109 produced. On highly detailed plan sheets this 1:6.4 scale, all wood, german fighter has a wingspan of 1550mm (61”), features a retracting undercarriage and working flaps, with power coming from a .60 cu. in. 2-stroke engine. A moulded canopy and cowl is also available. Not for beginners.
