Kaiser K11 Plan

With its large access hatch and light wing loading, this 1/3 scale version of the K11 by Chris Williams is a very practical scale motorglider, equally at home whispering by at low altitude, or upstairs playing with the thermals...

Full Description

After the success of his sweet-flying 1/4 scale version of the one-off Kaiser K11 motorglider, it seemed only natural to Chris Williams to wonder what a larger 1/3 scale version would look like. The K11 preceded the much better-known K14 and was, presumably, not up to the manufacturer Scheibe's expectations. From a modeller's point of view the K11 is a much prettier machine and this version has been modified to better reflect the full-size machine, which is still in existence and presumably still flying. This has involved changing the shape of the canopy and the lower front of the fuselage, and a beefed up wing structure. To power the 4.28 metre wingspan model, Chris used an E-Power BL5335 Brushless Outrunner, a 120 A Opto ESC and 2 x 3300 mAh 5S LiPo batteries
