Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XIV & XIX (69")
There were 24 Marks of Spitfire and many more sub-variants, and they served in every theatre of operations during WWII, and continued in use all over the world for many years after the war. Available here are the Spitfire XIV, which was a short range medium-high altitude fighter combining the Spitfire Mk VIII airframe with a Rolls-Royce Griffon engine, and also the rare Spitfire PR Mk XIX, the excellent photographic reconnaissance variant, in which only 225 were built out of the total of 20,341 Spitfires built.
As mentioned this excellent plan from Brian Taylor offers two versions to build. Both versions are constructed from all wood and offer moulded accessories and features working flaps and retracting undercarriage detail on the well-detailed plan sheets. Builds into a super 1:6.4 scale, 69” wingspan model of this WWII classic icon. Power comes from a .60 cu. in. 2-stroke or suitable 4-stroke
