Messerschmitt Bf109E (68")
One of the most recognisable fighters from WWII, that established a reputation as a fast, manoeuvrable and heavily armed fighter, the Messerschmitt Bf 109 remained in frontline service with the Luftwaffe throughout the Second World War. Now from the Brian Taylor Plans Range comes this top class, 68” (1727mm) span, 1:5.7 accurate, scale model of this iconic aircraft.
The model is of conventional all-wood construction, and features a retracting undercarriage and working scale flaps. A laser-cut wood-pack is available which contains most of the shaped parts needed, such as fuselage formers and wing ribs, but you will need additional sheet and strip wood and ply to complete the model, as well as all the hardware needed. A moulded plastic cockpit canopy and engine cowling parts are available for this model, as well an aluminium propeller spinner. The model was designed to be powered by a .60 cu. in. 2-stroke or .75-.90 cu. in. 4-stroke engine, but experienced modellers have successfully converted it to electric power. This plan is is not suitable for beginners.
